Experience the thrill of riding the legendary Strade Bianche route with a two‑day bike adventure starting and ending in Siena — the iconic “Northern Classic in the south of Europe.” This immersive journey covers 180 kilometers, including 63 kilometers of the famous white gravel roads that define the Tuscan countryside and the cycling heritage of the Siena region.

Over the course of this self‑guided tour, you’ll explore the southern landscapes of Siena, venturing into the wild beauty of Val di Merse and the rolling clay hills of the Crete Senesi. The route follows some of the most scenic stretches of the Eroica and includes many of the finest gravel segments in all of Tuscany, offering a perfect blend of challenge, history, and breathtaking views.

Your adventure is divided into two balanced stages of 90 kilometers each, giving you the freedom to dedicate part of your day to cycling while still enjoying the charm of local towns, peaceful rural roads, and the unforgettable Tuscan scenery. It’s an ideal way to experience the essence of the Strade Bianche — not just as a race, but as a journey through one of Italy’s most captivating regions.

Day 1 – Welcome to Tuscany

Individual arrival at Siena, dinner on your own and accommodations in 3 stars hotel located close the city center. Upgrade in 4 stars hotel available on request with extra charge.

At your arrival you will receive all the informations to complete the route of Strade Bianche.

Day 2 – Val di Merse, Montalcino and Val d’Orcia, 89 km – elevation gain: 1560 metri

The first part of the stage will lead you to ride in Val di Merse region and two segments of gravel roads to the town of Ville di Corsano, where the Eroica roads will bring you to Buonconvento, town where we suggest a break.
In the second part of the bike tour you’ll ride surrounded by the Brunello vineyards to Montalcino, very nice medieval village, and then in Val d’Orcia, one of the most panoramic road of the Strade Bianche bike tour.
The gravel road that lead to the agriturismo it’s one of the most panoramic and really enjoyable to ride.

Dinner on your own and accommodation in typical tuscan farmhouse with swimming pool and SPA.

Day 3 – Crete Senesi and Monte Sante Marie, 92 km – elevation gain: 1800 meters

The second stage is the hardest one, especially for the number of kilometers covered on the gravel roads.
In the first part of the route you’ll ride the challenging sector of San Martino in Grania and, after a short break in Asciano, the Fabian Cancellara segment of Monte Sante Marie, famous for the challenging up and down gravel road with climbs over 15%.
After Monte Sante Marie you will reach Castelnuovo Berardenga and the last sectors of gravel road around Siena.
The last uphill of Santa Caterina street will lead you to the final arrival in Piazza del Campo, where you can enjoy an aperitivo before to come back to the hotel.

Day 4 – Goodbye Tuscany

Breakfast and individual departure, otherwise you can stay one more night and enjoy another tour loop to discover the Chianti region.
